ASCM – Association for Supply Chain Management is a not-for-profit international educational organization respected throughout the world for its education and professional certification programs. With more than 33,000 individual and corporate members in 15,000 companies worldwide, ASCM is dedicated to using education to improve the business bottom line.
The Dayton Chapter has supported the international ASCM organization since 1961 and has been recognized for excellence in chapter management, receiving the platinum award of excellence for every year since 1989.
The Dayton Chapter:
- Provides educational and professional development presentations from such well- known companies as Toyota, Honda, General Electric, Miami University, University of Dayton, Lincoln Electric, and many others.
- Presented many technical presentations to the ASCM International Conference on chapter management techniques and the leading techniques of practitioners.
- Offers current APICS courses in such internationally recognized certification programs as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD).
- The Dayton chapter instructors are certified through the APICS Instructor Development Program and have many years of practical experience working for local companies. They have also served on our Board of Directors for many years.
- Has 74 current certified members and over 200 certified from previous years.
- The Dayton chapter provides a distribution funnel to the ASCM center for hundreds of business management publications and educational materials
- Has supported award winning student chapters at Miami University, University of Dayton and Wright State University since 1973.
- Is a source of solutions at workshops, plant tours, and networking with other local chapters, including the annual ASCM International Conference and Exposition.
- Supports ASCM by providing Subject Matter Experts for the CPIM and CSCP Certification Review Courses. As a Subject Matter Expert our instructors review the course materials and suggest changes to the material as part of the continuous improvement process for the class material.
Founded in 1957 as the American Production and Inventory Control Society, APICS has continued to expand its focus to stay current with new management techniques to include a full range of programs and materials on individual and organizational education standards of excellence, and integrated resource management. To reflect this current direction, we are now known as ASCM – Association for Supply Chain Management . The Dayton ASCM Chapter is an APICS Training Partner with ASCM International and supports the full range of program and educational offerings.
