What Our Members Are Saying
The ASCM Dayton Chapter has provided me with the resources and experiences to get a head start in my professional career. I was fortunate to attend three different APICS National Conferences during undergrad, all funded by the Dayton Chapter. The connections and seminars I experienced at the conferences in Washington DC, San Antonio, and Chicago resulted in an expanded network and job opportunities. During the San Antonio conference, I received an interview and offer for a summer internship with Lockheed Martin. As a result of that college work experience, I was able to transition to a role in Lockheed Martin’s Operations Leadership Development Program after college. The opportunities provided by the ASCM Dayton Chapter have given me the chance to prove myself in industry. In the past two years, I have received the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Prism Award and the Lockheed Martin RMS Mission Maker Award. I am now working on my Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, as well as studying for the first CPIM exam. I am grateful for the opportunities provided by the ASCM Dayton Chapter which have allowed me to start achieving my goals.

I have been a member of APICS over 30 years, and I can say that the APICS CPIM certification has given me an edge in employment, job seeking and confidence. With an APICS certification, its not just about the document, but the personal relationships that you acquire, and the continuous learning. The local APICS board in Dayton is second to none with qualifications and professionalism. The team thoughtfully assembles a great year of meetings as well as terrific training. The Dayton APICS chapter has been a Platinum chapter for nearly 30 years. This is the highest ranking for APICS chapters and the Dayton Chapter is ranked 14 among all the APICS chapters in the United States. If you are professionally involved in the field of Supply Chain management, come and join our team and see what a difference it will make in your future.

Well, I can’t say enough good things about the Dayton Chapter of ASCM/APICS. I have belonged to this organization for such a long time, I can’t remember NOT being a member. I think of professional organizations in the area, ASCM/APICS has the most to offer. And there are a lot of reasons why I have continued my membership.
Susan Walters, CPIM
I’ve been a member of APICS/ASCM since the 90’s when I first fell in love with supply chain. APICS is a place where I felt like everyone speaks the same language, shares the same struggles and strives for the perfect supply chain solution. The biggest advantage of the Dayton Chapter is the chance to network with supply chain professionals from nearly every manufacturer in the Miami Valley. I’ve also been able to seek out mentors through my APICS connections. There have been countless speakers who all had something great to share with us. I really look forward to the facility tours every year because to learn something is one thing, but to see it in action makes a long lasting impression. I typically see a best practice in another plant that I am able to implement into my own job. I enjoyed serving on the board of the Springfield and Dayton chapters. I served with other volunteers who share the same love for supply chain and learned about the APICS big picture. The Dayton Chapter is blessed with excellent teachers and I’ve taken several classes throughout the years. With only a couple years of college and no degree, I wanted something to show that I know what I know. So I did the work and earned the CSCP designation. It has gained me much respect. Recently, having the APICS certification has given me the confidence to launch my own marketing business. I can’t say enough about how APICS has shaped my career. I’m grateful to the Dayton Chapter and all the wonderful people I’ve met along the way.
